Vilnius gets a new silhouette
Green ‘crystal’ looks impressive from all angles
The stunning Hanner Building is a new landmark and symbol of the development of the Lithuanian capital Vilnius. This 67-metre high, 15-floor office development is the tallest building completed in Lithuania since the country achieved independence in 1990.
Not surprisingly therefore, it is also the first project to determine the city centre’s new silhouette, and is being hailed as the model for the further vertical urbanisation of Vilnius. The design of the building is based on a simple geometric form, and has been named ‘crystal’ due to its sophisticated, polished surface in different shades of green glass.
