A marvel in marble

Stone and water compose a memorable theme tune

When the architect was looking for a leitmotif for the architecture of this new hotel, he did not have to look far. He based his design on the main features of the surrounding environment: the marble quarries, the rocky landscape, the rivers, waterfalls and reservoirs. The façade represents a local Macael marble quarry, with its uneven sides, the blocks still scarred by the drill, and its rough texture with varied tones. Marble is used throughout the hotel, where it gives a common theme to the 309 rooms.

The two reception foyers combine green, white and yellow marble, moistened by an eye-catching, trickling stream of water. The three swimming pools, with their fountains and waterfalls, cleverly exhibit different treatments of yellow and green marble. Providing a touch of contrast is the 63-room Mediterranean Village. Throughout, the use of aluminium and glass adds to the high quality appearance of this exceptional leisure complex.
