An oasis of luxury
Renovated city centre hotel offers full range of facilities
In September 2003 the Monopol Hotel in the heart of Katowice reopened after over two years of extensive refurbishment. Changes include renovated façades, a slate-covered sloping roof, and a new patio that is covered with an eye-catching sloping glass roof and skylights. Top quality finishes have been used throughout: stone from different countries, many types of wood (e.g. walnut parquet), polished stainless steel, aluminium, silk carpets and leather. This luxury hotel now extends over three wings, five storeys and a full underground level; the latter housing a swimming pool, gymnasium and sauna.
The ground floor is divided into three areas. The first is the lobby with disabled-friendly lifts and a new staircase leading to the first-floor patio. The second is the restaurant, and the third is an extensive retail area. The whole building is of the highest aesthetic quality.
